Healing A Painful Past

ThePast.jpg

When something has been painful, we tend to have trouble seeing the whole picture.  The pain causes us to latch onto pieces, particularly if they are unresolved to our comfort.  So we have these fragments of a situation that can create a cognitive dissonance, conflicting thoughts and emotions causing discomfort.  So often we are strongly attached to our perceptions, particularly if we have a right and wrong judgment involved.  An “I was right, they were wrong” conclusion is the hardest to convert to forgiveness.  If we are invested in our victimization, because we feel wronged, it becomes challenging to get to a neutral place in order to transform and heal the past.

In my last post, I wrote about the neutrality of Love.  If we can reach that place of divine love within us, the part that IS us, we can work with all the puzzle pieces we have gathered.  We can release our grasp on them, holding them in place like a static old story.  If we take all the pieces and shake them up, loosening them and making them more fluid, the space between the pieces can be filled in by our higher self and we can see the whole picture.  From a neutral perspective, we can shine the light on the situation and speed its transformation into beauty and love.

If we can have the courage to release our grip on victimization and being right, we can connect back to a situation energetically, just by remembering ourselves there, which is quantum.  Similar to inner child work, we can touch that aspect of ourselves going through the experience and send love, healing, wisdom, comfort and encouragement back to ourselves going through the experience.  If we, in this now moment, connect back with the us going through the experience in that now moment, we can shine the light on ourselves, so our past self can follow our own unique beacon, out of the darkness of fear, shock and pain, into the light and through the experience with greater grace.

Erik explains in his Mom’s blog, “Erik: We don’t get to erase things and redo like on a chalkboard. But we do get to re-talk them and energetically shift them. So you are remembered by the other people who experienced you in the past, but the way you react to it is not that same way anymore. You’ve mended it; you’ve healed it; you’ve changed the actions. It’s a personal feed.”

Erik expands on the subject in another blogpost, “People need to learn that, if there’s a past, you actually have access to it again, and this is not a hoax; it’s not through past life regression or hypnosis. That’s a very conscious way to tap back into what you consider YOUR PAST, but time is all happening right now. You’re living it all the time. Once you learn that time is not linear, and that past, present and future are all stacked on top of each other and is all occurring [now], what you’re doing by focusing on this conversation, and by trying to learn this concept is, uh, you have this amazing talent to bring in your awareness and focus on this immediate Now, and the Now keeps changing. But this doesn’t mean that the past is completely away from you, and it doesn’t mean that the future is completely away from you. Once you understand this kind of concept, all of a sudden your grief or your sadness or whatever you’re trying to get over doesn’t seem that big.”

As Erik puts it, “Because the event itself is not what matters. Ultimately it’s how you feel about it.”

Every moment we are still on this Earth, we still have the opportunity to heal our past… not just with forgiveness but quantumly, by being a light beacon for our own past selves.  When we have healed our past, our healed, higher vibrational energy interacts with the others in the situation that can heal them too.
