The Senate Ends the Shutdown
11102025 Speaker Johnson Updates on End of Shutdown

Senator Fetterman (PA-D) Explains Why He Voted to End the Government Shutdown
Schumer Shutdown: The Senators who kept voting No to the Clean CR Bill and kept the government shut down have ACA Insurance Companies as donors. The government was shut down for 43 days because the ACA insurance companies paid Senators through their campaigns to make sure they did not lose ACA money. Senator Schumer is at the top of that list.

It’s about Health Insurance Companies
That is a lot of wasted money making insurance companies rich.
Senator Cassidy has ideas for a better way.

President Trump wants to pay the money to the people instead- Trillions.

President Trump has been working to make Healthcare more transparent and affordable to empower The People. These Executive Orders are a good start. The first 3 are:
~EO: Making America Healthy Again by Empowering Patients with Clear, Accurate, and Actionable Healthcare Pricing Information (February 25, 2025) Enforces strict hospital and health plan price transparency rules from 2019, requiring standardized, comparable pricing data online; projected to save $80B+ for consumers/employers by enabling shopping for services.
~EO: Delivering Most-Favored-Nation Prescription Drug Pricing to American Patients (May 12, 2025) Directs HHS to align U.S. drug prices with lower international rates via negotiations; led to deals with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk slashing GLP-1 drug costs (e.g., Ozempic/Wegovy to $150/month starters for Medicare).
~EO: Establishing the President’s Make America Healthy Again Commission (January 20, 2025) Creates a commission to address chronic disease root causes, review federal health policies, and recommend reforms for preventive care and nutrition to reduce obesity/diabetes burdens.
President Trump’s first three 2025 executive orders on healthcare—focusing on price transparency, most-favored-nation drug pricing, and the Make America Healthy Again Commission—promise tangible improvements by empowering patients and tackling root causes of high costs.
The February price transparency order mandates hospitals and insurers to disclose actual, standardized prices for services and drugs, enabling consumers to shop competitively and potentially saving up to $80 billion annually for individuals and employers, fostering a more affordable and innovative system.
The May drug pricing order aligns U.S. costs with lower international rates through direct negotiations, as seen in recent deals slashing prices for essential medications like GLP-1 drugs to $150 per month starters, directly easing burdens for millions managing chronic conditions.
Finally, the January commission order launches a federal review of policies to combat obesity and chronic diseases via preventive strategies and nutrition reforms, aiming to reduce long-term healthcare spending and enhance overall public health outcomes.
President Trump’s plan for Healthcare:

Insurance Companies have been getting very wealthy on the ACA Obamacare and the people have been disempowered by companies that have held life and death decision making over their care and treatment- many times bankrupting individuals and whole families.

Redirecting ACA subsidies directly to individuals, rather than routing them through insurers, would empower Americans with greater financial control and choice in healthcare spending, potentially slashing costs and inefficiencies. Families could deposit the billions in annual credits—up to $1,200 monthly for some—into flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, using funds to buy customized plans, cover out-of-pocket expenses, or even opt for cheaper short-term policies without mandates, often leaving “money left over” as Trump proposes. This bypasses “middleman” insurer profits, fostering competition to lower premiums by 10–20% and reducing reliance on bloated ACA exchanges, ultimately putting power in consumers’ hands for more affordable, personalized coverage amid rising healthcare inflation.

It was not until my son Adam’s sudden passing in 2014 that I truly understood resisting change. How was I going to be able to bear having a family Thanksgiving, let alone a family Christmas ever again without Adam these traditions were so engrained in me and so important that I never thought it would change, and that they would always be “picture perfect”. I remember stating to my family weeks after Adam passed that I did not know how I was to be able to ever have another holiday without him being present and that I wanted to just skip over them from now on.
