Divine Healing

So far this week we’ve discussed opening our hearts, allowing the transformation inside of us to take place and building our new world through focused intention. This morning’s contemplation took me to the topics, surrendering and the power of prayer.

Surrendering is an act of ultimate trust and faith in which we let go of control and allow things to flow freely, knowing that the reins are in God’s hands. It’s getting out of our own way and allowing our true selves to naturally flourish. Our minds, constructed from our Earth persona, will try to control. But our Soul, our eternal divine self will always be our best inner guidance. Surrendering is key to the process. When we let go and flow, allowing our intuition to take over, we create more powerfully, and that opens the door for magic. Through our focused intention, we invoke the act of surrendering to the divinity within us and the divine process that is occurring all throughout our world.

When our thinking mind has surrendered and our intuitive feeling heart-knowing has taken the lead, we can work more effectively with the creationary forces of the Universe, and the most effective means to do that is through the focused intention of prayer.

At no other time are we able to affect change in the world as when we pray. When we pray for someone, we are transmitting healing beyond space and time. Larry Dossey, a medical professional, researched prayer and distance healing for decades. “I did my internal medicine residency in Dallas,” Dossey said. “I was in the emergency room when President Kennedy was brought in. It was a very traumatic event for everyone in the hospital, that the president died in your own emergency room. I was there for that.”

Numerous studies were performed on the effects of prayer. Dossey’s explanation for the way prayer works is that space and time are flexible. There is a unity between everyone, and when in the right frequency, and since all things are connected, it is possible to help others in times of need. This is a concept that brings in quantum physics and also dates back thousands of years.

“I think it’s a shame that in our so-called scientific age, we say that healing with prayer is not possible and don’t even pay any attention to it,” Dossey said, “That’s false. If this is not scientific, then nothing is. The studies were done in randomized, controlled environments in hospitals and clinics. And the only reason people don’t want to pay attention to it is because of their belief systems. They’ve made up their minds that this can’t happen, this doesn’t happen, and they don’t care about the evidence.” He says that combining distant and remote healing, with prayer, the concepts of quantum physics make it entirely possible. “We live in a new world view, which most people haven’t woken up to,” said Dossey. “Most people prefer the old ideas of the 18th and 19th centuries. That’s a shame because it deprives people of the healing force that is real and can be used to help people get well.”

To understand this healing force better, we must see the Universe as a single undivided, interconnected whole. Human beings, with the spark of the Divine Creator inside them, have the innate ability to sense and work with that interconnectedness through our conscious awareness and the act of our perception, as the observer. If we have the ability to affect reality as in a hologram, and we are all connected through the Divine Spark within each of us, then is it entirely possible that we can affect healing for one another.

Healing Through Prayer

1. Allow your thinking, everyday self to surrender to your eternal divine self (your soul or higher self.)

2. Think of someone to receive help and bring them up in your imagination. Imagine how you would like to see their life improved- healed, lifted up, wealth improved, love in their lives, etc.

3. Imagine them telling you they are healed, or done the thing you wish. Mentally hear them tell you they have done it. This awakens the possibility within them.

4. Feel the thrill of seeing their good fortune and sincerely wish them well. This affirms the change.

5. Accept that the improvement has occurred. Feel it as if it is a fact. Know that as you bless this person, blessings flow back to you. Give gratitude for this miraculous divine exchange.

“Blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy.”

“The quality of mercy is twice blessed- it blesses him who taketh and him who giveth.”
