Gender and Oneness

For those brave souls healing and on the spiritual path, transitioning from duality and separation into Oneness takes trust.  Allowing and trusting the process is like stretching a glob of silly putty without being able to see it.  When we look deeper to recognize the reality in situations, we realize good and bad are simply two ends of the duality stick, and the truth is there is only Love.  In this new energy, things are changing so much, and with so much present-day upheaval, we must constantly examine our own beliefs, and see what resonates with our own evolved state of consciousness.

It can be unsettling when belief systems crumble and fall away.  Past male energy dominated societies settled disagreements with aggression, to become the dominant force.  The male active do-er energy and the female receptive, intuitive energy worked as two separate expressions, one having power over the other.  Male dominant societies kept people locked in reactionary survival mode.  Without an equal balance of female subjective energy, we were misaligned from our hearts, stuck in a control loop of separation, until our evolution brought us to where we are now… on the precipice to Oneness.

Within each of us is male and female energy, but when we came into this life, we chose a dominant gender for our expression.  In this new energy, as more of us wake up, we are becoming more gender balanced within ourselves.  Females are becoming stronger and more outspoken, males are becoming more sensitive and caring.  As their capacity for compassion emerges, males are refusing to play the gender game.  Beliefs about gender roles in film, TV, books and leadership are slowly falling away.  Women are feeling more supported in their rights, setting healthier boundaries and speaking out against harassment and abuse.

But a problem still exists when boys becoming men are expected to be tough, unafraid and unemotional, but are in fact more gender balanced than expected.  Some may be made to feel unmanly and pressured to prove their manhood through naked aggression and negativity.  A man who is made to feel shameful of his feminine aspect can devolve in inner turmoil, which may come out as rape, abuse and conflict.

Females, historically considered weak and needing a man, can induce fear if they exhibit overt strength and independence.  But to compete for resources for their family, especially if they are the head of a single parent home, they felt they had to take on more masculine qualities in order to survive in a male dominant business world.

As separation concepts slowly fade, and Oneness becomes clearer, male and female energy can be a beautiful empowering expression if allowed to flow harmoniously within oneself and in partnerships.  For this to become the new norm, each must recognize and acknowledge the presence of both genders in their own makeup… being complete in who we are and valuing it.  Male/female energies can work together as a dance of Oneness, with the masculine protective energy supporting the feminine receptive, intuitive energy.  A gender balanced society is a lasting society.  When energy flows between balanced male/female energies, we are on our evolutionary path to Oneness.  Dr. Wayne, in his article What is Oneness, described Oneness as this: “How can we grasp the idea of oneness in the world of nonbeing that we occupied before we came into beingness? One way might be to think of our fingers, legs, arms, toes, and eyes: We don’t think of them as separate entities from our total being. We don’t refer to our fingers as being separate from ourselves. Even though they have their unique qualities and character, they’re part of the oneness we refer to as ourselves. So it is with our relationship to Source or God before we came into this world—in that world, we and God were one.”
