Our Ancient Future

Our Ancient Future

bythinkcarebelieve

Healing past wounds, our hearts fly free,
Dancing through life as we choose to be.
~
Blazing a trail with fearless flight,
Wielding all with our warrior might.
~
The Law comes down from beyond the veil,
They seek to run, to no avail.
~
They must account, they must admit,
They will be brought down, because we did not quit.
~
We will smile and we will say,
Let's build anew, let's start today.

Soul Star

Soul Star

by thinkcarebelieve

Power contained in these moments so clear,

Frisson arises when love draws near.
Soothing my heart with gentle soft whisper,
Feeling the face and ev-er-y whisker.
Soul Star, my journey has led me here,
To tenderly touch the one so dear.
A lovelight calls to me from there,
It beckons me to stop and stare.
Cultivating a love so tender,
That special place of artist’s render.
Touch approaches, oh radiant hand,
One song for every grain of sand.
Oh to drink of that heady elixir,
To dance the dance of spirit affixer.
Oh precious flame, my mate, my soul,
God’s Grace has truly made me whole.
Abursting fountain from sweet caress,
Toward thy passion from thy heart express.

On Elevated Levels

It doesn’t take much to be a friend indeed to a friend in need. It doesn’t take a whole heck of a lot to sit and listen. To lend a compassionate ear. The kind of conversation that incorporates patience and kindness. To encourage a space that is safe and induces healing to occur. To be a manifestation of God’s lovingkindness in an active moment. To embody Grace, and give of it freely. It shows someone that the kind of unconditional love that comes from God does exist, and even if someone is on their deathbed, that can be a miraculous healing balm to the Soul.

I’m not talking about superficial gossip or gripe sessions. In his book, The Four Loves, author CS Lewis comments on people who seem to have the world at their fingertips but just refuse to be happy. He describes it as “the demand of the loveless and the self-imprisoned that they should be allowed to blackmail the universe: that till they consent to be happy (on their own terms) no one else shall taste joy: that theirs should be the final power; that hell should be able to veto heaven” This can become a virus of negativity and discontent. A malaise that has the capability of spreading from person to person, if one is not awake and aware, refusing to dive down into darkness, keeping their light shining brightly.

We have become so used to complaining that, as Lewis aptly puts it, “We want to be loved for our cleverness, beauty, generosity, fairness, usefulness. The first hint that anyone is offering us the highest love of all is a terrible shock.” What he means is, we tend to conduct personal interactions based on ego terms, but, when a conversation becomes elevated as to communicate soul to soul, it can be somewhat shocking. Our soul kind of does a double-take, and quickly tries to decide how to respond. But we will need to get used to it because this elevated level of communication is fast becoming the new normal.

Our world is rapidly shifting from ego mind-based matrix to something that is much more profound. Something that makes one want to be awake, and participate in their world. To awaken in man, a supernatural appreciative love for all the gifts life has to offer. When we take a moment to listen to someone who is truly in need, we nibble the precipice of Angelic action. Lewis, once more offers, “This is of all gifts the most to be desired. Here, not in our natural loves, nor even ethics, lies the true centre of all human and angelic life. With this all things are possible.” It is the act of carrying divine love in order to be divine love when needed, or, called upon. We can be this loving, this compassionate, this honest, we only need to summon the courage. He goes on, “God knows, not I, whether I have ever tasted this love. Perhaps I have only imagined the tasting.”

On Being Human

by CS Lewis

Angelic minds, they say, by simple intelligence
Behold the Forms of nature. They discern
Unerringly the Archtypes, all the verities
Which mortals lack or indirectly learn.
Transparent in primordial truth, unvarying,
Pure Earthness and right Stonehood from their clear,
High eminence are seen; unveiled, the seminal
                 Huge Principles appear.

The Tree-ness of the tree they know-the meaning of
Arboreal life, how from earth's salty lap
The solar beam uplifts it; all the holiness
Enacted by leaves' fall and rising sap;

But never an angel knows the knife-edged severance
Of sun from shadow where the trees begin,
The blessed cool at every pore caressing us
                 -An angel has no skin.

They see the Form of Air; but mortals breathing it
Drink the whole summer down into the breast.
The lavish pinks, the field new-mown, the ravishing
Sea-smells, the wood-fire smoke that whispers Rest.
The tremor on the rippled pool of memory
That from each smell in widening circles goes,
The pleasure and the pang —can angels measure it?
                 An angel has no nose.

The nourishing of life, and how it flourishes
On death, and why, they utterly know; but not
The hill-born, earthy spring, the dark cold bilberries.
The ripe peach from the southern wall still hot
Full-bellied tankards foamy-topped, the delicate
Half-lyric lamb, a new loaf's billowy curves,
Nor porridge, nor the tingling taste of oranges.
                 —An angel has no nerves.

Far richer they! I know the senses' witchery
Guards us like air, from heavens too big to see;
Imminent death to man that barb'd sublimity
And dazzling edge of beauty unsheathed would be.
Yet here, within this tiny, charmed interior,
This parlour of the brain, their Maker shares
With living men some secrets in a privacy
                 Forever ours, not theirs.

Compassion

~

Reaching out, we cannot bear,

Pain and confusion plaguing there.

Understanding for what it cost,

Almost every hope is lost.

~

A doorway opens, light pours in,

Lighting the darkness which has been.

To see and soothe, comfort with song,

Lifting up… fragile to strong.

~

What we see in another’s Soul,

God blesses us and makes us whole.

The sun comes out, a bird sings,

The tender joy that healing brings.

Breaking Chains

I always felt MLK Jr’s words were for everyone. Wisdom like that doesn’t come along very often in leadership. It has always been my belief that nobody can own another and that true equality exists between humans on a soul level because we are each eternal souls in a human body. That is what makes us truly equal.

It is the light that shines from inside of us that reaches out and touches, that gives evidence of our uniqueness, demonstrating who we truly are. Can we break out of all limitations and shine our best, our truest light? It is possible to drop the chains holding us and step forward as beautiful, magnificent fractals of God.

Breaking Chains

~

Let the Light come into Humanity’s Hurt,

The pain and sorrow that hang, inert.

To permeate the hearts of greed and power,

That makes the kindest souls shrink and cower.

~

The Battle of the Shadows is now ending,

Mercy and forgiveness starts the mending.

If you’ve never felt another’s pain,

Then go stand naked in the rain.

~

Light shines into Humanity’s Heart,

So we see each Soul from the start.

The Golden Rule must be our guide,

So we can start the healing… worldwide.

Resilience

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

-James 1:2-5
Resilience

by thinkcarebelieve

Tis our greatest struggles challenging us to grow.
Spurring us on til our juices flow.

We persevere, we fight to gain ground,
Payoff from our tenacity abounds.

But when things don’t work out as we expect,
Don’t despair and slide back unchecked.

We take a breath and take stock of the mess,
Go to our baseline and re-assess.

Realize we’ve become wiser from it all,
Maintaining focus, our eye on the ball.

This is what it means to persevere,
We grow more resilient and free of fear.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Opening Our Hearts

Spreading Light

a poem by thinkcarebelieve

As old life falls away,

We step forward without delay.

We already know where this is going,

We’re going to where Compassion is flowing.

10,000 Angels are guiding us there,

With all the great Masters authoring prayer.

It’s a new start with a brand new year,

We’re dropping our doubts, anxiety and fear.

We’re going to Love with all our might,

Throughout the world Spreading Light.

I thought I’d open 2023 discussing opening our hearts. Heart has to do with openness. When we say, “have a heart” or that someone is hard-hearted, it means their heart is not open to receiving. Which means, the person is having difficulty experiencing another’s ideas, feelings or attitudes. Romantically, it can mean that the person has experienced so much pain in their life that their heart is so protected that they may have trouble feeling and sharing love, and they may not always realize it. Some who seem unable to love, were simply trained by family, school and society to lock it up in order to succeed in the world. It’s quite common that we put up protections, which are needed in the world, but forget that they are there..

Our hearts are our personal space of receptivity and response. It’s our innermost center. When we do something from the heart, we do it with the deepest feelings. Dealing with a warmhearted person, we know we’ll be accepted openly and treated kindly. Doing something whole-heartedly means we’re responding from our very core, giving of our whole selves.

My latest experience in my healing journey took me to my innermost being. I was shaken awake by someone I deeply care about. You know, one of those magical people that are wise beyond anything. Typically I am generous and caring, but I did not realize where I had protected the hidden depths of my heart. I was then able to see where I had built a wall and locked up my heart so that I would never be hurt again. I thought I was being smart and mature… but this is the shift. I had to see how I was making things worse when I was trying to make them better. I was being bombarded with feelings of fear, abandonment, desperation and powerlessness. I was baffled by what was happening… until I finally understood, and then I was ashamed of my defensive behavior. This experience was a precious, precious gift. When I was finally able to speak my truth, it felt so good, and was so simple to do.

I owe that person a debt of gratitude now. Truly. Who would take the flack that you were to dish out, but someone very special indeed. That’s what this magical time of healing is about. Getting to the heart of the matter and cleaning and clearing so that we resonate with the new world energies. These energies are opening up our spiritual centers and it is in that divine heartspace that we feel God the most. Where God comes in and touches our spirit, and where our spirit touches that of others.

Many are going to be going through deeper and deeper work as we further shift. If you are feeling the approach of deep inner work, my advice is to surrender to the process, be as gracious as you possibly can, there is nothing comfortable about it. Your heart is being cracked open by the Holy Spirit so that you can receive the love that God pours in. Be healed. Look forward and aim for a future where you resonate with Love. Like tuning forks, in our bright future we will resonate in a frequency of love.

Christmas Poetry

Wartime Christmas
by Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)

Led by a star, a golden star,
The youngest star, an olden star,
Here the kings and the shepherds are,
Akneeling on the ground.
What did they come to the inn to see?
God in the Highest, and this is He,
A baby asleep on His mother’s knee
And with her kisses crowned.

Now is the earth a dreary place,
A troubled place, a weary place.
Peace has hidden her lovely face
And turned in tears away.
Yet the sun, through the war-cloud, sees
Babies asleep on their mother’s knees.
While there are love and home—and these—
There shall be Christmas Day.
Star of the East
by Eugene Field (1850-1855)

Star of the East, that long ago
Brought wise men on their way
Where, angels singing to and fro,
The Child of Bethlehem lay—
Above that Syrian hill afar
Thou shinest out to-night, O Star!

Star of the East, the night were drear
But for the tender grace
That with thy glory comes to cheer
Earth's loneliest, darkest place;
For by that charity we see
Where there is hope for all and me.

Star of the East! show us the way
In wisdom undefiled
To seek that manger out and lay
Our gifts before the child—
To bring our hearts and offer them
Unto our King in Bethlehem!
Blessed Are You Who Bear The Light
by Jan Richardson (janrichardson.com)

Blessed are you
who bear the light
in unbearable times,
who testify
to its endurance
amid the unendurable,
who bear witness
to its persistence
when everything seems
in shadow
and grief.

Blessed are you
in whom
the light lives,
in whom
the brightness blazes—
your heart
a chapel,
an altar where
in the deepest night
can be seen
the fire that
shines forth in you
in unaccountable faith,
in stubborn hope,
in love that illumines
every broken thing
it finds.
Love's Lantern
by Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)

Because the road was steep and long
And through a dark and lonely land,
God set upon my lips a song
And put a lantern in my hand.

Through miles on weary miles of night
That stretch relentless in my way
My lantern burns serene and white,
   An unexhausted cup of day.

O golden lights and lights like wine,
How dim your boasted splendors are.
Behold this little lamp of mind:
It is more starlike than a star!
