Resilience

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

-James 1:2-5
Resilience

by thinkcarebelieve

Tis our greatest struggles challenging us to grow.
Spurring us on til our juices flow.

We persevere, we fight to gain ground,
Payoff from our tenacity abounds.

But when things don’t work out as we expect,
Don’t despair and slide back unchecked.

We take a breath and take stock of the mess,
Go to our baseline and re-assess.

Realize we’ve become wiser from it all,
Maintaining focus, our eye on the ball.

This is what it means to persevere,
We grow more resilient and free of fear.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;  perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Romans 5:3-5
