Father,

It is when things are at their darkest that we need to shine our brightest. We come to You today to renew our hope in the face of grim circumstances. We make a plea for all those who are suffering right now, Father, for all those whose light is getting very dim. Let us be the blessed candle that relights all others. Help us intensify our Light. Open Your Arms and enfold us in Your Tender Mercy. Fill us with strength and conviction so that we may shine out into our world as brightly as we can, lighting up all dark corners so that every human hears and sees truth clearly.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” (Matthew 6:25 )

As we shine more brightly, we truly do realize that living life is so much more than the food we eat. You have created Life to be a multi-faceted experience for us, and given us the ability to choose to make it as light-filled as we want. These bodies You have created for us are beautiful and capable of more than we understand. You’ve given us the keys to a Ferrari and we haven’t always realized. Our bodies are not just the clothes we wear, they are a holy creation, made in Your Image. They have the ability to heal, and rejuvenate and regenerate and much, much more.

Free us, Oh Lord, from the chains of authoritarian control systems and evil of the money-changers. Allow us to rise above all that has gone on, so we can heal and experience a better life for us and our loved ones. Bless us with Your Love and fill us with Your Light and may we always do right by You as Your Children by lighting the candle for another. We are Your Children and we are ready to be that Light.
