“Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, ‘Clear the way through the wilderness for the LORD! Make a straight highway through the wasteland for our God!’” (Isaiah 40:3 NLT)
Father,
We come to you today in a state of contrition and peace. To stand before you with all of our flaws and foibles, our sins and imperfections and know that even though you see into us and know everything about us, we are still precious in your eyes. We surrender it all to you, Father, clearing a straight path for You in our lives.
“The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” (Isaiah 40:3 KJV)
When we come to You in a state of complete honesty, Father, we are better able to bare open the parched desert inside that is in sore need of sustenance. Come into our hearts, come into our bodies, come into our lives. Be the rains in our parched desert. Come and breathe life into our communities, our interactions, our societies.
“A voice of one calling: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.’” (Isaiah 40:3 NIV)
We clear the way for You with truth and we invite You, Father, into our world, to be the rains that quench the fires of evil and bring much needed life back, to flourish with our good stewardship. We prepare the way and are more than ready to help You turn a wasteland left by darkness into a beautiful garden of Light, as it was always meant to be.
Let it be so,
In sincere devotion,
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
