Father,
Today we walk our path with conscientious attention. To put our focus on you and your guidance for this stage of our journey. To prepare, you want us to let go of all distractions, and open our minds up to all the possibilities just ahead. To let go of all the thinking of the past, forgive as much of it as possible, and inhabit the present moment. To trust ourselves enough to have faith that our strength, our love and our resiliency will get us through anything.
“Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.
And all people will see God’s salvation.” (Luke 3:4-6)
As new awareness brings better understanding, we take careful steps forward. Knowing you are with us all the way is of much comfort. Help keep us out of fears that can trip us up and take us off course. Give us strength when we need it, wisdom when we call for it and the guidance that instills inner knowing of the best thing to do in every situation. Help us answer the call in the best way possible. We only want to serve you better “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism.” (Ephesians 4:2-5)
So be it.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
