Becoming Unstuck

When we’ve reached our limit on stress and become overwhelmed by uncertainty or fear, we can reach a state where our mind scrambles and we become, in essence, paralyzed. In fact, it is our natural reaction to something threatening that causes a defense mechanism that puts us in a dissociative state. Especially if the situation reminds us of something traumatic. The paralyzation is trying to save us from emotional pain.

If we can change our perspective to seeing this as an opportunity to unravel the string that ties us up into knots, we might be able to confront the root fear. We might need to prepare ourselves first by talking to someone or doing research. But going into the pain, instead of running from it, might be the way forward. I think the saying “the only way out is through” applies here. When we are sufficiently prepared, with our courage summoned, we can pierce the lid of the box where we’ve kept that pain. We can inject light into that box and apply love, understanding and forgiveness to everything inside. Using prayer and calling in help from our guides and the Angelic realm, miraculous things can occur. If we are willing to empty all our pockets, ignore distractions, and get to the bottom of the problem, we can start to dismantle behaviors that drain our energy and sabotage our ability to move forward.

The decision to get to the heart of our pain is a permission slip to prioritize self care. In fact, whatever we can do to release the energy of the trauma stored in the physical body will ultimately raise the overall vibration. Being committed to the process will raise the quality of our lives and maintain better balance. Proactively keeping ourselves from dropping down into despair by being on the lookout for signs that we are dropping into that fear again and then doing something that will take us into a more creative frame of mind. It can keep us from losing the ground we have worked so hard to gain. It can form new habits that clear the subconscious where those fears can lurk. By sticking with it, progress can indeed be made.

Suggestions:

1. Do something creative. Using the creative part of our brains dispels fear and takes us into a realm of new possibilities.

2. Move your body. Walk, skate, dance, run, swim, yoga, ride a bike… whatever you can think of that moves the energy out of your body and raises your vibration. Use your breathwork to breathe it out.

3. Try some new healing modalities such as acupuncture, massage and Reiki that release deeply held energy from the body. Get rid of energy draining behaviors that have been sabotaging success. Stop falling for the distractions that take you away from your own forward progress.

4. Do something calming and soothing. Take a hot bath. Relax, ease up, try not to overthink and try to find a way to be joyful again.

5. Take a walk in nature. Connecting with the flow of Mother Earth’s life energy is the best thing for us. Find an old tree and connect with it. Try to sit near running water. Sit in the sun and soak in the energy. Use all of your senses to bring the experience alive and be mindful of the moment.

Panic attacks and paralyzing moments can also occur just before a major breakthrough. It is the momentum pausing to build up enough force to break through walls and perceived limitations. The goal is to become wiser and more inspired. In this time of change, it is completely normal to be overwhelmed by uncertainty. Since we are thinking about getting out in nature, I will put it in hiking terms… We are on the trail to our destiny, following the blazes marking the trail. Our boots are still in good shape and we have plenty of food in our pack. When we come to a fork in the trail, and are frozen in our tracks by indecision, it might be a good time to stop to check our packs, and study the map. Then it’s one foot after the other again, ever forward… full of hope and ready to experience some trail magic.
