Our travels enabled me to connect with the events in our current daily news in a totally different way.

Our two stays at the KOA campground at Circus Circus in Las Vegas allowed me to experience Las Vegas from its back yard. (Can see Vegas post here)  I did enjoy experiencing the excitement of the strip and the casinos.  What I really enjoyed was sharing the joy with various strangers in the cool evenings at the doggie play park in our post-casino after glow.  Nobody was in their win/lose mode, teetering between expectation, elation and disappointment.  In the back yard of this surreal sensory over-stimulation, we were just simply being alive, playing with our pups.

It feels like the recent events in Las Vegas occurred in a different reality.  While all those affected by the shootings embark on recovery and healing, I prefer to focus on the fact that in the lights of Las Vegas are every color of the rainbow.  I want to imagine those lively colorful twinkling lights linking up to create healing rainbows all throughout the city.
