This morning, we left our home for the past month at Homolovi State Park in Winslow, AZ.  We’ve become very fond of the park and attached to the Rangers there.  If you want an open, scenic view and quiet and full of archeological history, then visit this park.  For our RV There Network friends, if you are looking for a host camping job, they need hosts for the summer months from May thru Sept.  This is sacred land to the Hopi, and for those who are respectful, you will find it is for you too. 

We finally made the decision.  Been wavering back and forth between the pull north from Montana’s beautiful mountains, and eastward to the beaches of Hatteras Island.  When it came down to it, the beach won, because it is closer to our boys and we are missing them terribly.  Hoping to spend some time with them this summer.  So… we headed east past the Petrified Forest, into New Mexico and Past Angel Peak and Chaco Canyon.

New Mexico’s Land of Enchantment slogan sure is appropriate.  I was surprised to learn that the mountains along I-40 were actually dormant volcanoes just like in Arizona.  I’ll have to learn more about that.

As evidenced by the numerous lava flow fields along I-40 leading east toward Albuquerque. Spending four days in Albuquerque where we’ll visit Camping World and Rio Grande for some sterling wire.

This is the bracelet that now belongs to award winning pottery artist, Gwen Setalla.  The stone was given to her by her grandmother to use in Gwen’s pottery process.  They use polished stones to create the patina on the beautiful natural clay of their pieces.  Gwen is a very special person and I wanted this bracelet to be something she will want to wear for years to come.  She plans to wear it on her wedding day this July.
