Teresa took us on a tour of the Watertown. We were lucky to meet the eclectic mix of her friends, the residents, and get a taste of happy small town life. Watertown town was named for Wilson Lawrence Waters, a farmer and industrialist, he organized the foundry in Nashville and was a delegate to the Whig Party in Philadelphia.
She took us to see Ruby’s Prop Warehouse, which supplies props for movies and several country music videos which have been shot in Watertown. NOTE: Ruby and her prop warehouse were featured on an episode of “American Pickers” in the fall of 2010.
We were amazed at the array of items in Ruby’s Warehouse!
Then we went to Ruby’s house to meet her mule, Stanley, who stands almost 18 hands high! (that’s almost 6 feet tall to his withers above his shoulders)
Then we went to Teresa and David’s farm for a good ol home dinner with their two daughters and six grandkids.
Among their flock of eighty chickens, there is one guinea cock, who showed up one day and joined the feathered family. David’s mother named him Wednesday because that is the day of the week he arrived.
Angie really enjoyed the nightly ritual of gathering eggs from the egg boxes on their front porch (she loves eggs).
The Folsoms plan to increase their herds of sheep and goats in the near future for wool production and to sell for meat.
We also got to witness a fantastic Tennessee thunder-boomer come across the hills to drop some need rain on dry hills.
