Saying No to Pessimism and Fueling Manifestation

IMG_1475-0-Edit.jpgMy Dad was a patient man.  I remember helping him plant two trees in our backyard when I was in my teens.  He explained to me that the two trees were to be a certain distance apart.  The reason for that specific distance was that when they would someday grow big enough, he was going to hang a hammock between them.  Being surprised by my Dad was a frequent occurrence, but I was impressed with my Dad’s faith and optimism then.  There was no doubt in his mind that hammock would one day be there, in fact we often talked about how he would rest there in the shade of those trees, after cutting the grass, a cold drink in his hand.

When I woke up this morning, I pulled an Angel card to get an idea of my theme for the day.  The message was basically “don’t be pessimistic.”  I kind of went hmmmm to myself because I wasn’t anticipating feeling that way today.  Okay, so on I go with my day.

Since it was one of our first warm spring days, I decided to remove one of the stumps in our newly purchased lot next door.  I set a goal that that stump would be out by the end of the day.  It was quite rotted, and it did move a little, but the main root was still firm in the ground.  Even when I dug out the dirt around the stump and sawed through as far as I could with my little battery operated reciprocating saw, I could not get it to snap off.

IMG_1456-0-Edit.jpgSome days I might have growled at this point, but I decided to just continue and cut some wedges into the trunk so I could reach the center.  But the saw battery chose that moment to die.  Some days I might have become disheartened, and I did think of how this job had become harder than I had hoped.  Then the thought occurred to me to try to talk to the stump and ask it to work with me.  I asked for permission to snap off that stump and said that I would return the stump to the land and bury it there to replenish the soil.  I asked the stump and the land and my spirit team to help me, because I was getting quite tired and would like to get onto the next phase of the project so I could start planting.  I tried to break the stump again, but it wouldn’t budge, so I walked away to put the battery on charge and just left the possibilities open.

After running some errands, I grabbed the battery and went out to do battle, in an attempt to accomplish my goal for the day.  When the saw blade touched the stump, I noticed the stump moved differently.  So I pushed on the stump again, and I heard a crack.  I was surprised that I wasn’t surprised. What a relief to finally separate the top of that stump, and I immediately had the feeling that it went so much easier than it would have, had I gotten pissed at it.

IMG_1475-EditI immediately gave thanks for the help in making the job easier.  I was astounded at the love and support for something small and silly like this, but boy was I grateful.  I mean, tears in my eyes grateful and it was mostly to my Dad.  I kept my promise to return the stump to the earth, to replenish it.  It was then that I remembered my morning message for the day.  Had I chosen or let myself become pessimistic, I probably would have hijacked and blocked the flow of energy that facilitated the stump breaking.  By having faith, almost in a optimistic playful way, like my Dad taught me, I was able to manifest an easier, almost magical way to accomplish the goal… and it was so much easier, and took much less energy.

Those two trees my Dad and I planted in his backyard did indeed grow large and strong enough to hang that hammock.  It took about 10 or so years, and I had young children by then.  I got to explain to them how Grandpa and I planted those trees in their places for the purpose of hanging the hammock in which they were giggling and swinging.  I told them how we nurtured those trees over the years and made sure they had enough water when there was a drought, and kept the weeds from growing too close to their trunks.  We planted them with the faith that those trees would grow strong and that one day we would indeed hang that hammock, and used playful optimism to fuel the manifestation into reality.

Party Gifts

IMG_1437.JPG

When my boys were in their teens, before cellphones, we used to have to have a way of keeping track of one another… In the event of failed check-ins, we just knew.  We knew where each was, and when they needed help.  Sometimes it failed, but usually it was spot on.  We could just pinpoint where one of us was, by feel.

This is just an example of something we all have innate within us, that has gotten lazy with the use of technology.  But technology is not a bad thing, it has connected us exponentially better, across our world, and allowed information to fly at lightening speed, having instant concrete validation thus not needing to place as much trust in our senses, causing some of our inherent abilities to become rusty.

One of my sons just moved to a house about a mile away from us.  He brings his doggie over to play and frequently comes to dinner.  I usually send a text when dinner is about ready.  Yesterday, without any communication since morning, he walked in the door just as dinner was ready.  I smiled to myself, because in this new energy, we still got it… and it’s only going to get better.

As our evolution accelerates, and more of us are waking up every day, those abilities are strengthening.  Numerous synchronicities are clamoring for our attention and beckoning us to tune in.  Excitement is building and anticipation for something good on our horizon is palpable.  It is all causing us to pause, and quiet and watch more closely.

The message I am getting very strongly is to look inward first.  The more we connect inside, the more happens outside.  By strengthening our inner connection, more light can be held in our bodies, and anchored through us.  The building anticipation of something is actually manifesting the something that is coming.  So, keep it up.  Keep up our vibration and keep looking inward, listening for clues and feeling for nudges.  Several months ago, I had a message of someone riding up on a bicycle asking me when I was going to show up.  Then a month ago I heard a message to “find the party.”  Yesterday, my friend, Sara Kujawa, gave a message from her son, ADam, “when you show up, show up with bells on.”  So, I’m going to just put some puzzle pieces together …

“Find the party, and when you show up, show up with bells on!”

Not sure if this is just for me, but I have the feeling it is for all of us, because what is happening personally with each of us, is also simultaneously happening to others.  Each individual is having a unique experience, like a flower opening, but… together, we are all making a beautiful bouquet– absolutely splendant in variety of shape and color.  The absolute beauty of all of our uniqueness is making a magical magnificent whole.

  • Honor your own personal growth and transformation, have the inside experience first.

  • Then connect outward using your feelers and find the party.

  • Then, show up with bells on and look around and to the heavens with anticipation and excitement.

Releasing Ourselves from Punishment

IMG_0558.JPG

Current new energies are bringing us startling clarity and revelations.  At the current moment, I’m grasping that “The Event” is about changes within ourselves.  As if a hazy gray cloud is lifting from within and around us.  And, it feels like everyone is going through their own personal transformation.  Not pretty, but the most deeply buried issues are rearing their ugly heads in unexpected ways.  We have the choice to find a way to make peace and allow it to release itself with Love (if we are lucky enough to recognize what issues are being triggered,) or to continue in more pain and discomfort.  That choice is making itself abundantly clear, as the clarity dial gets turned up notch by notch with each new energy wave.

This is an exciting time and we all came here for this.  We came to go through the transition from trudging through a sleepy life, tediously learning lessons, to graduating and claiming our individual sovereignty as divine beings.  What we have been punishing ourselves for is a question only each of us can answer for ourselves. The search for that answer is our release to freedom and a new level of clarity.  What messages did we internalize in our younger days on this Earth that caused us to punish ourselves?  What feelings and emotions caused us to turn that around and punish others?

Right now, the Earth is being showered with Love from God.  It is a Love free from judgment, and simply a divine energy that is telling us we are Loved and we ARE Love.  The judgment part is coming from ourselves.  Can we possibly Love ourselves enough to step into unconditional Love?  That means, whatever experiences, thoughts, emotions, situations, memories or pain lurking deep within has permission to evaporate, that empty space filling up with the expanding Light inside of us.  The stories we have been playing out simply put, have gotten old and we are fast outgrowing them.

Can we allow the process to continue, without exactly knowing what is on the other side?  Can we make the choice to venture into the Light coming from God over continuing as we have in more pain and cloudiness?

If we each go inside, there are answers waiting for us.  We each have a team that loves us waiting to assist us in our personal transition.  Can we release ourselves from the punishment and take a step forward… untethering ourselves from our painful stories that we are fast outgrowing?

That first step is declaring that we love ourselves no matter what.

Affirmation

I release my painful stories.

I allow the Light of God to clean and fill and bring new clarity.

I ask for assistance of my Higher Self, Guides, Angels and Archangels.

I Love myself no matter what.

I am Loved and I am Love.

I feel that Love.

And so it is.

Holding the Light

DSC00118.JPGCan you feel the hum within you?

When we are quiet enough to feel our own beautiful heart, we can connect with the expansive energy of all life around us.  Letting all the chaos go on without us, and allowing our own peace to fill the air around us to create a safe, loving and fertile space.  When we smile into that peaceful bubble and feel it down into the Earth, and then follow it up into the Heavens, we are anchoring the light.  As we pull in that peaceful loving energy that feeds us and rejuvenates us, we can pause to just hold it, and then we can set the intention to hold the light now and every now moment in the future.

Affirmation

I hold the light.

I am the light.

I am.

When We Love Ourselves Unconditionally

DSC00135.JPGOne aspect of having challenges in our lives is that we chose those challenges to learn to love ourselves unconditionally.  If we can keep that in mind as we go through our experiences, we can perhaps go through them more smoothly, and directly, rather than getting stuck in a side trip to the circle of emotional turmoil.  When we love ourselves enough to accept the situation without judgment, we can apply forgiveness right away to others as well as ourselves.  This invites the magic of synchronicity in to transform for the highest good of all involved.  Loving ourselves unconditionally, with all our foibles, and accepting ourselves as already perfect, we can begin to see others as perfect in themselves too, and be able to love them unconditionally as well.

DSC00122Dr. Wayne’s daughter, Serena, wrote a blogpost entitled Learning to love myself In it, she explains, “It was only when I stopped judging myself and tried loving myself that I began to discover that the universe, God, whatever you want to call it, fully supported me in my efforts and I started getting all “green lights” on my path toward discovering just what my dharma was. When I started attempting deep and profound self-love, the kind great parents offer to their children, I started to feel good- I started to find that the right people were showing up at the right places and my life began to feel more on purpose. Since I began the process of self-love and self-acceptance, the right man came into my life. When I started to offer love to myself on the inside, I started to lose the extra weight I was carrying around because I began to realize that I didn’t need food to give me the feeling of being full, I felt full and complete without food or drugs or alcohol.”

DSC00126.JPGAll the things we do in a day change when we love ourselves unconditionally.  Doing something for ourselves feels different because we are doing it with a renewed love for our own sacred existence.  Taking two minutes to thank our body, to remind ourselves how magnificent we are and to just be.  Doing for others, and getting no thanks, changes because we are the ones who thank ourselves, and somehow the need for thanks doesn’t seem that important anymore.  We do things out of love for ourselves, because we are each a piece of God, and connected by God.

We’ve all known people that seem empty inside, or maybe we have felt that way ourselves.  That emptiness is a void of self-love.  When we drop the distractions and put down all the games and illusions, we can get down to it and face ourselves in the mirror.  We can step back and look at our life as a whole, so far, and then zero in on the individual spark within, that is really and truly… us.  We can make that spark of our true essence, which is love, grow.  Then we can:

  • Accept our past
  • Forgive ourselves
  • Appreciate our unique appearance
  • Value our bodies
  • Be at peace instead of needing to fix
  • Affirm our amazing journey
  • Rest is a gift to ourselves
  • Absolve our insecurities
  • Free ourselves of judgement
  • See the beauty of life… and feel gratitude

When we love ourselves we naturally treat others with respect and kindness because we recognize that the same spark of God that is within us, is within them too.  And then, somehow, what we are feeling and doing on the inside, becomes reflected back to us on the outside.  When we have aligned the inside of ourselves with love, the Universe sends love to us and we can manifest and create more easily than ever before… or just be… peacefully.

DSC00119.JPGIn his blogpost The Love Equation, Dr. Wayne wrote, “To begin to change what’s inside you, become more loving toward yourself. In your thoughts, cultivate an inner voice and attitude that’s 100 percent on your team. Imagine an inner self that only supports and loves you. You might schedule a certain time of day when that’s the only thought that you allow yourself to pay attention to. Gradually this loving attitude will extend to other people. You’ll begin to receive this energy back and ultimately be able to send thoughts of love and joy to everyone and everything in your world.”

When we love ourselves unconditionally, we’re not being selfish or vain.  When we have our own full love, we have no need to go out of balance like that.  We see things differently and so clearly, and life just becomes more simple.  Seeing things differently is a miraculous gift.  Because amazing truths exist in the vastness beyond ourselves, and truly loving ourselves is the key that opens the door.

Find The Party

Whatever tomorrow brings, we can create a best case scenario by continuing to let go of our own old yucky issues as they pop up, forgiving others in the now and trying not to judge. If we can keep clearing out unhappy and painful thoughts, feelings and memories, we can rise with the high vibration of any event that comes.  Our health improves when we form new habits of canceling negative thoughts about worse case scenarios as they arise and change them to open positive thoughts with love behind them.  Gradually, our thoughts become tame and help us create a better reality.  Once we get ourselves healed, then we can assist others…. and they will need it.

More humans are waking up every day.  Many aren’t aware what these new stirrings are.  It can be quite alarming for one to have an incredibly vivid dream where their Guide introduces themselves and takes them on an experience that blows their mind.  Or unsettling to suddenly see rainbow colored energy in the sky or aura energy around people as they walk around.  They may be wondering if they are having a nervous breakdown or losing their mind and there is nobody in their circle of friends they can talk to about it for fear they’d be called crazy.

Those of us well established on an awakening path, whether we often feel lost and confused or not, have chosen to awaken early to reassure newly awakened individuals that there is much more to being alive than the physical aspect of being human.  We can tell them it is going to be okay, and that they are experiencing the uncovering of a truth that they are a divine being made of love.  A truth they can go within, open their hearts, and let in.

We can encourage them to go within, relax, and let go of all thoughts and distractions.  We can remind them to be patient while their minds slowly cease its chatter, or quiets to a less intrusive level, then to stay there.  As the new warm and wonderful feeling slowly rises, we can suggest that they simply rest in it, for that is their true nature and the center of their being.  We can assure them that daily visits with their true self inside will help with their well-being during this process of ascension with the Earth.  We can reassure them that they are never alone and have a wonderful support team they can call upon for help.  They can ask questions and then listen for the answers.  In this way, we can pull others through the shock of their own sudden awakening so that they can resume their lives, newly awakened and aware.

What do I believe is going to happen during the event?  I don’t know.  I believe we are going to feel God, and realize that God has always been here, within us.  I think we may see something incredible in the sky.  I’m not sure everyone will experience it.  I’m not sure if it will occur within a day or stretch over a month, or months. But, I want to pose the question… is it possible that the event is something we each experience individually and personally, but simultaneously alongside others?

One thing I do know is that each of us has our own unique awakening path.  One that takes us to a place where we know without a doubt deep within our hearts that we are love and we are willing and able to demonstrate love in action in our daily lives.  With that all powerful truth, we can easily create the absolutely best case scenario possible.  One that melts  our hearts and makes us so sweetly glad to be human on this beautiful planet during this incredible time.

On a personal note, the other night, my Higher Self told me to “find the party.”  So, in order to bring to us a best case scenario experience that gives us joy and makes us want to celebrate, using the Law of Attraction, we need to have an attitude of celebration, in the now moment.  We need to search the ether for the energy of those who are already celebrating, because they know they have worked and sacrificed so hard for this and waited a very long time for this moment to come.  They are so happy for the Earth making her rise in vibration and are grateful that she is taking us with her, gently and with love.

They are celebrating the best case scenario, and you and I are with them, and we have found the party.

Shifting to Better Eating

Those of us on the ascending path may not be surprised by the latest news about processed foods.  Our bodies have been telling us about it for a while now.  Headaches, body aches, stomach aches, low energy, constipation, diarrhea.  Gradually (or suddenly) steering us toward a diet of eating lighter, preparing our meals from whole foods in their natural state with all the vitamins and minerals they were meant to have.  Everyone’s body will have different requirements, but generally we are evolving toward a diet of less meat, more greens, some whole grains, fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables- all non-GMO and organic, and a little dairy which is fresh, organic, and non-homogenized.  In essence, we are getting closer to our roots, which are deeply connected to the Earth.

IMG_0274.JPGWe have a little half acre lot next door.  It’s been vacant and weedy for over 20 years.  It has tree stumps.  It came up for sale shortly after we moved in 5 years ago, but more than I could afford.  It came up for sale a couple more times, each time a little less but still too much.  Last year, two lots on the other side of the road sold and I began to worry the lot next door would be next.  I began to use what I knew of the Law of Attraction to bring the land under my care.  When I walked my dogs past, I would say things like, “I am the steward of this land” and “this belongs to me, I am the caretaker of this land.”  I envisioned making a perennial flower garden around the stumps and planting flowers in them.  The land slopes downhill so I imagined using the land in a way that manages the water for our property and others.  Last month, I had a vision in my sleep.  It was a picture of a stump with a few high grasses around it.  I had no clue what it meant.  “Why am I seeing a stump?”  I asked.  Two days later I saw a for sale sign on the lot.  I knew the realtor and just knew it was priced to sell and that it was going to go this time.  It was and I put in a call that night saying that I wanted to make an offer.  Two weeks later I became the steward of that land.  There were moments things didn’t seem to be going smoothly and I wondered if I was doing the right thing, but then I remembered the picture of the stump and knew my Guides were reassuring me.  They just know me so well, and give me the signs I need.

I’ve written several posts about using the Law of Attraction and this is one true life, recent example of how quickly one can manifest.

So how am I going to go forward with this surprising new project?  Well, I’ve been reading up on contour gardening.  Contour gardening is a way of planting with the contour of the land incorporating mini-swales next to garden beds that trap water so it can be utilized for the plants instead of running downhill and making a swampy mess.  This system of terracing was used in ancient times by Aztec, Inca and Mayan tribes. My goal is to make use of the rainwater for berry bushes and will save my neighbors from too much runoff puddling their yards.  In this way, I can produce more antioxidant rich food at home, organically, as part of my own landscaping.

It’s no coincidence that news about processed foods came out now.  All over our beautiful planet right now, change is speeding up.  More humans are waking up every day.  Part of surviving and evolving through this time is detoxing.  I’ve written several posts on clearing out and letting go of emotional baggage because our minds and spirit are quickly evolving.  Now it is time to pay attention to our bodies because they are changing to house the greater light energy we are carrying.  To help, we need to clean out toxins and put in healthier food.  It’s not just the chemicals that are used during the processing, it’s that nutrition gets stripped out of processed foods.  When we think back to how many years we’ve been eating processed foods, we get an idea there may be built up sludge in our bodies.

Give detoxifying some thought.  There are plenty of trendy detox plans and diets out there.  You’ll have to listen to your own body with assistance from your higher self to be guided to what you need.  But here are a few simple natural suggestions are here to help you get started.

  • Drink lots of water. A splash of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar can help.
  • Drink green tea.
  • Colon detox. Use natural organic supplements such as senna tea or grape or prune juice.  Then follow with natural organic fiber.  It may take some time, but as your body adjusts to running more cleanly, things will become more regular.
  • Foot soak in water with a heavy splash of apple cider vinegar.
  • Give your organs a rest by fasting (only in moderation.)
  • Sweating releases toxins through the skin.
  • Take a bath with sea salt or Epsom salt.

Affirmation

I release all that no longer serves me.

I ask for help from my higher self, my Angels and Guides to assist in gentle detoxification of my body.

I am filled with light and my body is perfectly regenerating.

Looping

IMG_1362-Edit.jpgWhat happens to our dreams and scenarios that don’t turn out like we hoped?  The themes that dominated a section of our lives only to come to an end that we didn’t see coming… a marriage, a home, a business, a job, a career, a relationship, a family or friendship… whose skeletons lurk and rattle around in our memories because we still may not know what to do with them or where to put them.  Painful to think they were failures, or worse we still beat ourselves up when they have the nerve to pop up in our minds.

My current winter project is to transfer our old vhs home movies from each of our previous marriages to digital for all our kids.  Being a blended family, the contrast of family dynamics is really interesting.  But I’m going to use my husband, with his permission, as an example of ways we subconsciously try to loop certain themes, in an attempt to reach original expectations of what we thought was perfection.

The theme of my husband’s family was perfectionism, pushed by his own parents from a very young age.  That lead to a deeply seeded anger and resentment of all the sacrifices he had to make to live up to their expectations, and his own.  The lost freedom and free time is what created lack of balance.   That affected his marriage and it ended (now he has that free time and balances it with a love of exercise and healthy eating.)

IMG_1313-Edit.jpgThe saying, “God doesn’t always give us what we want, but rather what we need” comes to mind here.  When we don’t meet our original goals and expectations, we may subconsciously keep trying to achieve them by re-creating scenarios in our life because we are locked into a cycle or loop and trying to fix it. The people may be different, the place, our age and circumstances, but something feels familiar and we are locked onto winning something that will finally prove to us that we are worthy, lovable, and valid.  These loops are particularly apparent in families of parents with addiction and denial (but not always.)

We can be set on a loop of continually trying to prove we are worthy of being loved and valued like we should have been.  We can be locked into a loop of trying to save someone.  We can be locked into a loop of finding the right relationship that proves we are worthy of being loved, but none seems to be good enough.  We can be locked in a loop of trying to prove we are not bad, like we were told we were by a parent.  We can be locked in a loop of almost achieving success but compulsively self-sabotaging ourselves because deep down for some reason we do not feel worthy of success.

All kinds of loops.  If we can wake up enough to recognize that loop, and the root message buried deep within us, we can apply the key that unlocks us from that loop and allows us to live freely.  The old subconscious programming that was behind the wheel has been driving our life using a roadmap of illusions.  If we are a divine aspect of God and God is within each and every cell of our bodies, including our consciousness, and God is love, then we must be love also.  If all there is, is love, then everything else is illusion.  That is the key that unlocks the loop.  Then we can slow down our circling, become calm and begin to shine the light on our experiences, and glean the wisdom from them.  This enlightenment can expand our awareness, and bring us gifts.

IMG_1315.JPG

The new energy has been assisting us to lighten our load by bringing these long-buried things up in our lives again so that we can look at them with an elevated consciousness, to take a new look coming from compassion and forgiveness, to realize there is really no right or wrong, they were just experiences.  Experiences that gave us a wealth of data for our wheelhouse so that we can grow and be in service to others because we have the wisdom of that experience.  We can tell someone we went through something similar and came out okay.  We can encourage them to stretch themselves past the painful blocks and get to the other side so that they can glean their own wisdom.

Dr. Wayne Traumas.jpgThis energy is now asking us to dig up and pull out the deepest things inside of us so that we can forgive ourselves and others, and clear the blame, guilt and worry.  If we are to claim our spiritual gifts now (channeling, healing, clairaudience, claircognizance, clairsentience), we have to finish healing ourselves before we can heal others.  If we are finally ready to use the key to unlock the loops we’ve been riding, we can to ride the divine spiral upward to ascension.

Dr. Wayne, in his article, The 3 Stages of Spiritual Awakening, wrote:

“The divine part of ourselves which I have labeled thought and God is a force in the universe which we are capable of tuning in to if we believe in it and if we are willing. In the purest stage of synchronicity, we have a choice about experiencing thought in form or in pure thought. We get an intuitive sense that to act or continue acting in a certain way is creating a forthcoming event.  Inner intuition tells us that we are heading toward this situation and we sense we have a choice about whether or not we need to go down this road again. In pure synchronicity, we are able to bypass the experience in form by having the thought without the need to play it out in form. It is literally getting out in front of it rather than learning from it through hindsight or in the present moment.”

Each and every one of us is complete perfection.  Everything that has happened in our lives has happened perfectly.  We are so much richer for the experience, and now that wisdom is in our wheelhouse and we have access to that wisdom and more.  We are never alone.  We have so much help from our higher selves, our Angels and Guides.  All we need to do is ask for it.

Affirmation

My higher self helps me stop circular thoughts and replaces them with peace and clarity.

My guides and my higher self show me the truth of all situations and bring me the perfect understanding.

I forgive myself and others for the illusion of being anything other than Love.

I am more peaceful, more compassionate and more consciously aware.

I am.

Nourishing Your Soul and Your Family

When you think about it, most everything in our life comes from plants.   The air we breathe has been expelled from plants after converting the CO2 expelled from us.  Most of the food we eat started as a plant.  Even the meat we eat originally ate plants.  Wine and beer and alcohol started with plants.  The clothes we wear, started as plants (not counting modern synthetic fibers.)  Starches, oils, fats, cellulose and waxes started as sugar.  We don’t always think about the role plants play in our lives, but they play a huge role in our homes in our lumber, basketry, rope, musical instruments, furniture and paper.  We may not all have a green thumb, and feel that we cannot keep a plant alive, but if one feels guided to connect with our roots in living in conscious harmony with our amazing planet Earth, it is a most worthy part of our ascension process to work together with nature.

Dr. Wayne, in his blogpost entitled Seeking the Great Spirit, wrote, “It’s all too easy to forget our connection to the natural world when we live surrounded by technology and the artificial constructions of our amazing modern life…The air, water, trees, minerals, clouds, animals, birds, and insects are all essential to the sacred web of life which we too often take for granted.”  When we spend time in nature, our connection with God, and our higher self strengthens.  It clarifies despite the fuzzy fog of other people’s problems, the illusions of chaos in the world, and anything that might cloud our path going forward.

Five years ago, when my husband and I were ending our four year RV life and looking for the place to set down roots, we had to compromise whether to buy a house in a development, or in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nature (guess who wanted the latter.)  We ended up in a little development surrounding a large lake, in a rural area, on a tiny plot of land… with a garden.  It works for us. You would not believe how much food I can grow on this tiny 1/3 acre patch of land.

First, the large garden takes up most of the back yard.  Then there are landscaped areas across the front and on an entire hill on the side.  Those were primarily filled with perennial flowers with a few fig bushes.  Too many flowers, really.  My first priority when we moved in was to install fabric weed barrier with mulch and thin out the flowers to give them space to thrive.  I gave them to my mail lady.  I still kept most of the flowers, just thinned them out.  We had an infestation of thistle that seeded themselves via the wind from the empty lot next door.  I fastidiously attacked thistle until it was eradicated.  Then, I was drawn to a book on edible landscaping by Michael Judd.  I began to steer my vision with a permaculture intent, and that drew me to creating a home backyard circle of sustainability.

Edible landscaping means just what it sounds like.  You substitute some of the non-food producing shrubbery for plants and bushes that produce things that are edible, like berries.  If you are going to eat from your own yard, it just makes sense to abstain from toxic weedkillers like Roundup and bug sprays like Seven and seek safer organic alternatives like those offered at gardensalive.com.

Permaculture, by definition, means the development of agricultural ecosystems intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient.  So, now that I was growing food in some of our landscaping, I needed to find natural organic ways to feed them that wasn’t going to break my wallet.  One of my first projects in this house was to dig a 350 gallon goldfish pond with a waterfall.  I just knew I needed it in an energetic health sense.  The beauty of this was that everytime I clean out the filter, I can use the yuck to feed my gardens.  The house already came with three compost bins.  Two small and one big.  Then I got worms.  No, not what it sounds like, I got a worm ranch from Uncle Jim’s Worm Farm.  Those little beauties break down our household scraps so fast, and they are happy to do it.

My Garden

Change can be scary, but it is inevitable.  Deciding to do something differently brings it’s own learning curve, but doing so can enrich one’s physical and spiritual life at the same time, as well as teach our children for future generations of survival based on sustainability.  Right now, everywhere, there are new gardening movements cropping up, so to speak.  Permaculture, sustainability, polyculture, native planting, eco-friendly landscaping, companion planting, food lots and food forests, are all terms in an emerging growth of us going back to growing safe energy packed food locally, and there are more terms and technologies popping up every minute.  The last several years of warnings about large corporate farming refusing to be accountable for the toxicity in their practices that they have been passing on to consumers simply because it improved their bottom line, has led us to take matters into our own hands and grow our own food at home, safely.  New technologies and inventions are springing up (so to speak) for home yard food production systems like Flow Beehives, Chicken Tractors, Earthbags, Cob Ovens… ways to grow a never-ending supply of salad greens or medicinal herbs.

The difference now in this new energy is that we are not acting in survival mode, but rather because we are evolving spiritual beings connected with the Earth, to become better caretakers of her.  We have graduated to drop the illusions and focus on what is important.  As I heard someone say recently, this is the only planet you are born to, which you have to pay to live on.  As we evolve with the new energy, we can turn that completely around.  We really can.

I have had some of the most amazing spiritual growth quietly working in my garden.  It’s actually a form of meditation as I feel connected to the Earth, myself, my higher self, and God because God is in each and every atom that makes up nature.  If you do not have good soil, there are ways to grow above the ground like raised beds or growing in straw bales.  If you are feeling a pull to try it out, then use the Law of Attraction to create your own personal food lot.  Ask your higher self, your guides and helpers to bring you the resources and knowledge you need to do it.  Feel inspired, energized and rise to the vibration of the life-giving energy of plants.  More on the amazing benefits of working with plants in posts to come.

Accentuating the Positive

Think of the things you enjoy in this lifetime.  Those special things that make living in this density so incredible.  When you think about how our 3D Earth experience all works, you have to admit, all the tactile aspects of our current existence are nothing short of miraculous and make our experience here so rich.  I have a little list of things that make me grateful for being here, in the now.

  1. Holiday flavored coffees.
  2. The smell of fresh cut grass.
  3. The way my dog sleeps on my bed, always touching me (except when it’s hot.)
  4. The smell of rain.
  5. A warm sun with a cool breeze… and wind chimes.
  6. Green beans, straight off the vine.
  7. Hugs. All kinds.
  8. The way fresh snow crunches under your feet.
  9. The rhythm of waves on a clean empty beach.
  10. The smell of a woods with a stream running through it over rocks, with ferns.

What’s your list?  Does my list spark memories of things you really love about being here on Earth, in the now moment?  If you could step back a moment, and see your life from an overview, can you put your finger on one or two things that you were really glad you got to experience in this life?  Something that goes something like, “Well, some stuff was really painful and there were tough lessons, but there were some moments, that I would have liked to freeze in time because they were just so perfect” is worth elevating in your thought process.

The Law of Attraction works in the way that, how we are thinking, the tone of our thoughts and feelings, the temperament of our emotions, brings more of the same right back to us.  Our thoughts, feelings and emotions go out of us and from us, in the energetic shape of wheels or gears.  They hook onto other things of like shapes and energy, and those wheels or gears spin and bring those things of like energy back to us.

So, basically, if we want better moments, we need to put out kinder and more compassionate thoughts.  We need to suspend judgment and find a way to accept and try to look at things differently.  Time is now to release our pain and grudges.  If we forgive others multiple times daily in our daily interactions, we can begin to see a real difference of what comes back to us.

The energetic gears we create will hook more good things and bring them back to us.

Real gratitude doesn’t have to be elaborate or extensive.  When you thank the Earth for the experience you are having, it elevates your life.  With so much intensity in this life, we get the benefit of accelerated growth.  If we were somewhere peaceful, clean and beautiful, the growth would be much slower and the lessons might take much longer.  This is a life of accelerated learning for us.  If we can see it with appreciation, the potential exists for things to go more smoothly for us.

The Universe is listening to our thoughts.  Time we took responsibility and put out our thoughts with the intention to do good.  We are never alone, and every now moment counts equally, with more power than we realize.  If we can make the choice to graduate from habit and intentionally create new practices that benefit the whole as well as ourselves, then a whole new world opens up for us.
