Week 86 ends with President Trump in Europe meeting with European leaders. His European visit begins in Ireland today for the 2026 Amgen Irish Open (this week, 10–13 September) being held at Trump International Golf Links & Hotel Ireland in Doonbeg, County Clare where he will discuss trade with the Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Micheál Martin. The U.S.- Ireland relationship is stronger than ever and the Taoiseach remarked that they are glad that President Trump kept his promise to be there for the Irish Open. President Trump was careful to point out how strongly a part the Irish played in America’s early beginnings. They will discuss how the Iran War ends, U.S. policy in Gaza, energy and European sources of energy on the continent and in the surrounding waters. They discussed Northern Ireland, and when asked by the Press whether he would like to see Ireland unite with Northern Ireland, President Trump answered that he is in favor of Ireland unifying and the way he looks at it, it is bound to happen eventually- he sees it as a good thing (“how could it be bad”)- and then the President made another promise that he would return for the Ryder Cup next year.
Week 86 of America in the hands of the Trump Administration has been about duty and honor. Joining together to honor the fallen. The solemn, sobering impact of that day changed the trajetory of millions of lives. President Trump awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously to 9-11 hero Welles Crowther, “the man in the red bandana,” and visited the National Medal of Honor Museum where he accepted the Museum’s Champion of Honor Award.
9-11 files were declassified for the public both by the CIA and by the PIDB of the National Archives. In them there are 71 declassified Presidential Briefings ranging from 1998 through September 2001. They focus on intelligence related to Osama bin Laden, al-Qaeda, and the lead-up to the 9-11 attacks. They show that previous Presidents Clinton and Bush were repeatedly warned about Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda’s intention to attack mainland U.S. but neither President did anything about it. The Briefings stated bin Laden’s interest in hijackings and flying explosive-packed planes, detailed their efforts to acquire the makings of dirty b*mbs, reported years of planning an attack and the well-known August 6, 2001 PDB titled “Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US,” which cited FBI reports of suspicious activity consistent with hijacking preparations and surveillance of federal buildings in New York. The files can be accessed here .
At the RNC Midterm Convention this week, the first of its kind, President Trump announced a $5000 cash dividend for the American people if Republicans retain control of Congress after the midterm elections. There is also a $500 refund coming to Americans using Obamacare because they were overcharged. Enthusiasm was through the roof at the Republian Midterm Convention where he vowed, “We will pass the Great Healthcare plan to stop all government payments to big insurance companies, and give the money directly to the people, for you to buy your own healthcare and have money left over…”
It was also a week of honoring Charlie Kirk, the one year anniversary of his murder. President Trump called him a “fearless warrior for liberty,” and “a beloved leader who galvanized the next generation like nobody I’ve ever seen before.” Bishop Robert Barron said that Charlie Kirk was a man who “died with a microphone in his hand.” Charlie Kirk has inspired a generation of young people to engage in debate instead of violence when they disagree. Utah officially designated September 10 as “Charlie Kirk Day.” All this because Charlie Kirk modeled courage, logic, humor, and grace. That is something good that we could all try to emulate a little bit more in our lives.
Week 86 has been a reminder of the solemn honor it is to be living this life as an American. Every breath precious. Every Right and Freedom cherished. As we’ve been learning, Freedom isn’t free, and there are many who paid the cost for us. This week has been a great reminder of how important this journey is- Let’s see some details of what happened this week…

“For us to confront transnational criminal groups, we need to do it inside the sovereign territory of countries. We want to partner with those countries. It’s in their interest to do it. That is why we have the Shield of the Americas. These are transnational terrorist organizations that do not respect sovereign borders. We’re going to help as much as we possibly can, because it’s in our national interests as well. We’re not going to do anything that our partners don’t ask us to do. We don’t want to do less than what you ask of us, but we’re not going to do more than what you ask of us.I truly believe that we are entering a new era in U.S.-Peru relations, a golden era in many ways, because her administration has the right ideas. In her first 40 days in office, we’ve already done many things together, and there’s so much more for us to do together.Very pleased to hear the announcement that Peru will be joining the Shield of the Americas. What is it a shield against? It is a shield against these threats to the sovereignty of these independent nations. It is a shield against these transnational criminal groups that, in many cases, have more money and better military equipment than the state. That is unacceptable, and the only way to defeat it is to confront it forcefully.” -Marco Rubio
