Oxferd Comma was a sensitive FBI criminal/counterintelligence investigation opened on May 16, 2017, targeting then-President Donald Trump. Documents were disclosed today and can be found here with the entirety of the Russia Collusion Hoax Reports and Documents.
It proposed that President Trump may have been acting as an agent of the Russian Federation—and potentially violating federal criminal law or posing a national-security threat—when he fired FBI Director James Comey on May 9, 2017. The probe treated the Comey firing as possible evidence that Trump was directed, controlled by, or coordinating with Russia, and it also examined potential obstruction related to the FBI’s Russia-related work. this has been proven a hoax, time and time again.
Per Jeff Clark, Oxferd was misspelled because: it was deliberately misspelled as “Oxferd.” I’m going to go ahead and guess that they did that to deliberately frustrate future FOIA requests if anyone in the outside world happened to hear about what they thought was “Operation Oxford Comma” and then go in search of the documents. Then the FBI could intake a FOIA request for that and say back truthfully “Sorry, no responsive documents.”
It is already wreaking havoc with search engines who want to auto-correct it to Oxford. It was opened as an investigation under a “sensitive investigative matter” designation, to keep it private as a subcomponent of the Crossfire Hurricane inquiry into possible 2016 Trump campaign–Russia collusion. The Acting FBI Director was Andrew McCabe and the Deputy Attorney was General Rod Rosenstein at the time. It was later rolled into Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and closed directly following the release of his Mueller’s report on April 9, 2019. There were no findings of merit against Trump on the core allegations.
