Father,

We come to rest for a moment today in the palm of your powerful hand. We come to You amidst all the confusion and chaos as the bitter seeds of wrongdoing emerge into the sunlight and burn away. This can trigger anxiety and undermine our sense of security. You want us to know, Father, that no matter how we are regarded by those around us, no matter the state of the world, you love us completely with an everlasting love.

When we know ourselves as fully loved by You, firm on the foundation of faith, then we can still live hopefully during this apocalyptic time. We can still kindle our light and shine through the darkest night. We can still hold joy in our hearts in knowing that Your Promise is good. We can see with open eyes the harsh realities of human existence and not be imprisoned by it. We carry no illusions about the evil that roams around looking for someone to believe their lies, and yet we still do not terrify in the face of it, nor be imprisoned by it. We remain strong in faith and hope and Love.

Through this strength, in faith, we will remain true to your commandment to love one another, to not turn on one another in the midst of all the dark upheaval. We will have the tenacity of integrity to hold true to your commandment to be the Love that you brought us here right now to be. “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (John 13:35) Give us what we need to see this through, Father, and the wisdom to know. Bless our hands that do so much, our legs, our words and our thoughts and emotions. Fill our Souls with Light. Remind us that we are fully loved by You every moment.
