Father,
Come into our hearts, come into our lives today. Help us to wake up the parts in ourselves that have been trampled down and lay in disuse. We mourn the parts of ourselves that haven’t been able to come and breathe because it just wasn’t safe or there was too much to do. Help us find those parts of us deep within that want to come out and sing because the day is so beautiful. Make us feel again that we want to sing out because we are so happy to be alive. Help us rediscover the love that we are. Bless all those who touch our hearts in unexpected ways to inspire us to want to really live again. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)
You made each of us unique, Father. You gave us each gifts to discover and nurture and cultivate. Help us bring these gifts up to the surface and help us utilize them in the best way possible. Help us, Father touch others inside to bring out the best in them as well. For others to remember the qualities in themselves that are testimony of the exquisite nature of life’s joys, to bring alive the parts of life that we’ve missed so dearly. “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” (Matthew 5:5)
We promise to bring these gifts to life again Father, as the world gets lighter and brighter. It is a call that we heed and has lit a fire that cannot be quenched. May we render our most beautiful songs in the days ahead bringing testimony of who we are as a people, as your children.
And the darkness will be trounced.
Let it be so,
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
