Father,
There are times when we must take a stand in our ability to challenge those who claim authority over and above that which is apportioned by You. It is your claim, Father. Your authority over us, as the one who made us, surpasses all. Your light is shining everywhere now. And where the spotlight is hitting, things that aren’t in line with your highest purpose of love and truth are getting mighty uncomfortable. As dark self-appointed authority gnashes its teeth, it may push fear buttons within us. We cannot avoid confronting our worst fears and insecurities in order to befriend whatever is blocking our buoyancy and holding us down from rising up. We must stand in the brightest light now, and in order to do that, we must make friends with the parts of our own selves that for some reason or another, we’d rather keep hidden. “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26)
When it comes to the dark, your son Jesus, is a radical. He turned over the tables of the money-changers and then took a stand against self-appointed authority. For the good of all, he made it known that Your authority trumps Caesar’s. We empty ourselves completely of all that is keeping us from taking a stand for what is good and what is right. Because we know You love every bit of us, every part, no matter what, we can stand in the light, with You, freely as open books. “And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Romans 8:27)
We hold to hope, Father. We just do. We know You are guiding this and we know You are at work doing the miraculous. “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (1Peter 5:10) Bless all your warriors of the Light. Bless us all. Amen.
