Father,
Sometimes, we get so tired of always producing. Sometimes we get so tired of dealing with problem after problem that we sometimes stop and wonder… where is the love? Where has it gone? Sometimes it feels like man’s world has gotten so far away from the love that is inside us. Our souls yearn to see humanity exude the type of love for eachother of which we know we are capable. A quality of interpersonal interaction that usually only exists after a group has gone through something traumatic together. In a world of productivity, Father, we will stand for the courageous compassion that exists in the heart of humanity, and we will be the love that you want us to be. “We love because he first loved us.” (1John 4:19)
Bless us with a love in our hearts that lets us rise together as one people. Avail us with forgiveness so that we may dispel the anger and blame that kept us divided, and the ability to reach out and really hear one another, without interference from the dark. “Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.” (Luke 7:47) Deliver us, Father, from the vicious cycle of criticism and anxiety by applying forgiveness and understanding. May we nurture a love that blooms within humanity and makes the statement that we cannot be beaten down by oppressors, and that humanity is rising up strong, together.
We will be courageous today. Courageous enough to be the love you created us to be. To remember the beautiful compassion that is in the soul of humanity, as we rise up strongly and remember who we are. “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (1John4:18)
In humble service,
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
