Prayer of Purposeful Love

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

We greet the day, Father, with an open heart. To move forward in your grace, we need to detach from dark emotions such as anger and resentment. To drop those things that capture our Light. It may feel like we are losing ourselves when we let go of revenge and hate, but when we simultaneously open to you like this in prayer, we open our heart to your greater heart. That means we have an open acceptance of you in our lives over and above any anger and bitterness.

Shine on us and shine within us. When we look out at the world through love, we see things how you see them. Things become lighter, when we start to feel things are not in line with love, we can shift our awareness to that of love and everything shifts back into balance. We realize, Father, that it is not about diminishing ourselves in order to tolerate that which we don’t like, or to make someone feel good. Rather it is about making love our purpose. To become so devoted to our purpose of love, that anything that is not in line with love just falls away and becomes irrelevant. Gentleness speaks louder than shouting. Kindness becomes our currency. Faith is renewed and restored regularly.

Bless us today that we may lay down our burdens and come to you for restitution. Your yoke is not a burden, rather it teaches as it restores and renews. It lifts and guides. In you we finally find rest for our weary souls. May we all find rest in your arms, Father, with a love that is everlasting and unconditional, loving us no matter what, just as we are right now.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

Amen.
