Prayer of Positive Focus

In this day, Father, we greet thee. We welcome You into our hearts. We take a pause in our distractions to search inside. Right now Father, it seems that our outer world is crumbling. It forces us to look at ourselves. Everything we’ve been through comes into focus. We are no strangers to brokenness. The darkness in the world has made us well acquainted with very intimate pains. This is a profound process of discovering a shining light inside that we forgot existed. As we dismantle walls, brick by brick, we open up and the light shines in.

“For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2Corinthians 4:6)

For you want us to have a fruitful life, Father, one that is born from the ashes and emerges triumphant in solidarity of the human family in faith and friendship. The Light inside of us is coming online. As we awaken and become more and more alive, the Light celebrates. It feels joyful. We connect with eachother. We shift to a more positive focus. As we do that Father, the world shifts.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (Philippians 4:8)

We bask in the glory of the miracles of today, our faith and hope alive and well. Taking care of ourselves, taking care of eachother, standing up and doing our part to take back our world.

In humble gratitude in service to you,

Amen.
