Prayer of Letting Go

Father,

We’re very lucky to be going through this process at this time, because it means we are burning off old unneeded stuff and making room to live. By staying pointed in the right direction, our true north in You, we can navigate around the pitfalls and brushfires. As long as we have our faith in hand, our steps are steady. Even though it is difficult to stay surefooted through the chaos that is releasing in our world now, we will find our way. When we feel there is no room to live, when we feel caged-in by all the noise and turmoil, it is time to let go of old beliefs that used to serve us, but are now holding us back. To make room for the new, we have to tear the old away. “a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away.” (Ecclesiastes 3:6)

We may not realize it, but this is a healing process, a spring cleaning of our Soul. “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” (Proverbs 28:13) We let go with surrender and forgiveness, finding peace in your mercy. When stubborn thoughts of guilt and blame trouble us, we can release them to you. “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)

We know we are safe in your hands, therefore, we here and now release everything we don’t need or want anymore, to you. We know it is safe to do this and we know it is the right thing to do. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) We let it all go. We let it all go now. “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

In humble gratitude,

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
