We praise you for the gift of another day in which to use our energy and intention to our best and highest good according to your rule that is golden. “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew) We know that everything we put out somehow makes its way back to us, and therefore, you want us to cleanse ourselves of the sickness that has scourged humanity for eons. By carrying anger, jealousy, resentment, and all forms of ill-will toward someone, we actually bring those things onto ourselves, according to your law. “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” (Luke) We know that when we don’t have the best intentions toward someone, that it will come back to us and we will feel what we tried to make that person feel. We will feel the brunt of our own malice. So, we choose to be in the light , Father. We choose to treat others as we would want to be treated if it were us in their sandals.
Because you want us to love eachother, and you sent your son to teach us, through selfless action, what love was really all about. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John) Let us learn new, elevated ways of nourishing eachother, Father, because we know that darkness is just an absence of light. When we come to our inner temple and call to You, “Oh God, come to my assistance” we know you will be there, ready to hear the whisperings of our soul. Thank you Father for your everlasting, endless love for us. Thank you for applying your divine will in our here and now, and thank you for upholding your rule that is golden.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen
