Father,
Thank you for this day. Thank you for this opportunity to love eachother better, by first loving ourselves down to our very core. We know that in 1John 4:7 it says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” Loving one another as you taught us, begins with forgiving and accepting ourselves first, while always remaining humble.
We know life throws challenges and lessons our way. Perhaps one of the most challenging things to do is open up our eyes and see ourselves as you see us, Father, and to give ourselves that same regard, that same precious love, no matter what we’ve done, thought or said.
We strive to love and forgive ourselves, in order to love and forgive others, because “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.” (1Corinthians 13:7)
We love, because we are your children, and we are your love in human form.
So be it.
Amen
