Starting from Green River, Utah, we took 191 north through Price Utah today.  We had to cross the Rockies somewhere and we chose that route as the lesser of several evils.

That allowed us to make a quick stop for supplies in Price.

Then we started out toward the Uinta Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountains.

As we gained purchase in elevation, we noticed Evergreens and Aspen trees.

Then we climbed big time.

When we finally reached the summit, the sign read 9114 feet in elevation.

Now this is early spring for this area, and it is just starting to green, but I’ll bet this beautiful mountain meadow is breathtaking in full greenery.

We saw clouds up there and wondered if we would run into snow.  Thank goodness we had dry road.

As we descended from the mountain, the peaks turned to into hills.

They continued to shrink, and so did the vegetation.

Until they looked more like what we were used to seeing.

We took 191 and then 40 east to Dinosaur Colorado where we’ll stay for two nights while we visit Dinosaur National Monument.
