We left Kirtland NM and headed west past Ship Rock.

We said goodbye to the northeast corner of New Mexico as we headed north.

And said hello to the Colorado mountains ahead as we soon turned west…

beautiful open scenery…

and huge picturesque buttes.

Then, we said hello to Utah.

And Utah was no slouch.

We passed through the town of Montezuma Creek where we saw some real greenery.

 And the sandstone formations appeared…

and got bigger…

and bigger…

and bigger still…

oh heck, this is Utah.  

After three beautiful states, we made it to Blanding UT where we plan to see Hovenweep and Natural Bridges National Monuments.
