Southeastern Pennsylvania had an extraordinarily wet August.  Before Hurricane Irene arrived, it already had 13 inches of rain.  It didn’t even get a chance to dry out when Irene came with 6 more inches of rain for the over saturated ground.  Swollen creeks and rivers, abundant runoff and flooding has been occurring, and they are calling for more rain on the way.  One interesting thing about this area is that when the ground is this wet, new life springs up.
