Seems I’ve been neglecting the blog lately.  Well, we’re still in Quartzsite.  As the snowbirds and vendors trickle out of this tiny desert town, we’ve been keeping as busy as ever. 

Unfortunately I sprained my ankle earlier this week which caused me to miss the last two classes of silversmithing and faceting at the Gem and Mineral Club.  Not to fear, I think I have enough experience to be dangerous on my own, so look for more updates on my progress in the future.  The ankle is better, but still being careful not to move too fast the wrong way and injure it again.

Our neighbors from Canada, Barb and Charlie, departed for home this week.  This leaves us hanging with the other half of the Quartzsite Foursome, Ralph and Roberta.  Every day they are dreaming up new adventures for us to get into.  I spent the last two days cutting up rocks that I found left by the vendors here around Quartzsite the past few months on Ralph’s 6 inch saw.  I’ve got my best batch of cabochons ready to be worked now and am anxious to start the shaping process.

I unfortunately dropped my camera and have sent it in for repairs (again) on account of it doesn’t want to open its lens cover.  Big bummer.  But not to fear, I do have pics and movies from a few of our adventures here to compile and share with you.  A rockhounding trip, a ride in the desert to see a Paleo Indian site, and a knapping demonstration.  Will get working on them as soon as I get a moment to breathe.

Friends Larry and Joyce from Picacho (where the ranch was) are here in Quartzsite.  We saw them last weekend where we went to a BBQ and heard the Naked Bookstore Man, Paul, play the piano.  He was excellent and we had a wonderful time and it was wonderful to see them.

Lastly, my final excuse for not keep up the blog is that I’m working on taxes before I run out of time.  Well… that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!
