Change Your Perspective, Change Your Reality

We are told that a change in attitude can change our world, but how does that really work?  We all know certain individuals who seem to be in their own little world, but to us, they still exist amongst the rest of us humans.  Well, to explore this complex concept, I’m going to bring forward the work of the artist, MC Escher.

Even though Escher claimed he had no mathematical ability, his works are mathematically based.  Mathematicians of the time sought interaction with him and used his work in their technical papers.  He said that he created his works from images in his head.  This is Escher’s 1953 work called Relativity.

By focusing on different parts of the image, we get a different reality.  Escher’s intuitive understanding of mathematics and his use of perspective illustrates just how we can change our reality by changing our focus.

Since our Universe is mathematically based, our world is too.  Snowflakes, pinecones, ripples in a pond, air currents, buildings, seashells.  It is also the foundation of logic and reason.  Just like Esher’s art, if we shift our focus from one aspect of our world to another, our reality shifts too.

If we shift our focus from a darker, lower consciousness to one of Light and higher consciousness, then the Law of Attraction kicks in and brings us more of that higher consciousness world.  One of benevolence, Love, compassion, solution and harmony.  We only need to believe it to see it.

In this new energy now, many people are feeling lost.  Many just don’t seem to be able to get into their groove anymore and things just don’t feel the same.  It’s not that something is wrong with them, it’s that the energy has shifted.  In order to acclimate, we need reconnect with our inner self, ground ourselves with the Earth, and then we can create our best life by shifting our focus onto better things.  The power is in our hands.  By being willing to change our perspective, we are utilizing our ability to change our reality.

Manifesting Toolkit

In order to facilitate creating our best life possible, we need to clear out old stuff and make room for it.  If we are getting new living room furniture, we need to put the old outside with a curb alert. We can keep ourselves clearer and not muddy our intentions by letting go, trying not to judge ourselves and others but simply accept ourselves and others and situations, getting in touch with our truest selves and being willing to be honest with ourselves, aligning with our purpose and affirming that the steps forward are not for ego’s sake but to have greater meaning in our life.  Remember, this is an ongoing process, so we need to be gentle with ourselves.  If we catch ourselves judging someone, it is not a failure.  In fact, the self awareness that we may have done that, is a huge gain.  Nobody is keeping score and counting losses.  Know that every time we change a habit, an impulse or a behavior, we raise our vibration.  We can keep ourselves clearer and that facilitates our growth on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

Here are some manifestation exercises and techniques:

  1. Use “I AM” statements.  The Universe is here to give us what we put out.  So instead of saying “I need” or “I want,” consciously change your statements to “I am.”  The concept is that if you say “I want,” the Universe will give you back more wanting, so construct the statement as if you already are or have what you are creating.
  2. Hold a pure thought for 17 seconds.  Clear yourself and focus on what you want to create.  Imagine how it will be to already be in that situation.  Hold that for 17 seconds and try not to contradict yourself.  The amazing news is that if you hold it longer, the power increases.  The full information on the technique here.
  3. Using Two Glasses.  Get out two glasses, two sticky notes, a pen.  Write on one sticky the current state of what you want to change and on the other, the state after the change. For example, the first might say “broken car” and the second might say “brand new car.” Put each sticky on its own glass.  Then, fill the first with water and pause a moment and think of how the current situation feels.  Then, pour the water into the glass of the new situation.  Imagine how the new situation will feel.  And then, drink the water, put the glasses away, put the notes into the compost (or trash if you don’t compost,) and then go on with your life and let it go to work for you.
  4. Visualization. See it in your mind. Draw it. You don’t need to be an artist, you can cut pictures out and make a collage.  The point is the focus you use to create your visual representation of your creation.
  5. Write it out.  Keep a journal or just do some freestyle writing.  Whichever helps you keep and hold your focus.  The more details, the better.
  6. Law of Attraction exercises.  Practice manifesting something small just for fun.  The more you do it, the more proficient you will be.  Exercises here on the LOA website.

Here are two great videos on using I AM statements and the Law of Attraction.  Even if you are familiar with the LOA, there are some great reminders here.
