Prayer of The Blinding Light

Father,

Even now, when it seems that the state of our world could not get worse, You are with us. Everything stops and our eyes settle on eachother and in unison, we turn our faces up to You.

We call on You now.

We know that there have been forces at work who do not want The Light to shine and we know that You are the powerful of all things, great and small. There is no greater power than You. The shadows run from the light of a single candle and You are the Blinding Light of all that is.

“The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” (Psalm 145:18)

We call on You now to come to the aid of the lost and vulnerable. We call on You now to come into this world and transform it. We call on You now to invoke Your Divine Covenant with We Your Children, and the Earth, and all that is. For all those who are in trouble and suffering, and all those who cannot take one more step. For the innocent children who have been bombed and maimed and starved… and worse. For all those who are suffering, now.

We call on you now, Father,

Amen.

The Lord is faithful in all his words,
    and gracious in all his deeds.
The Lord upholds all who are falling,
    and raises up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to you,
    and you give them their food in due season.
You open your hand,
    satisfying the desire of every living thing.
The Lord is just in all his ways,
    and kind in all his doings.
The Lord is near to all who call on him,
    to all who call on him in truth.
He fulfills the desire of all who fear him;
    he also hears their cry, and saves them.
The Lord watches over all who love him,
    but all the wicked he will destroy.
