Rules for the New Life
So then, putting away falsehood, let all of us speak the truth to our neighbors, for we are members of one another. Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not make room for the devil. Thieves must give up stealing; rather let them labor and work honestly with their own hands, so as to have something to share with the needy. Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:25-5:1)
Father,
New Life is coming to our changing world. We can feel things changing, but we wonder what the future will bring. Help us, Father to make this a brighter future for our families and generations to come. Help us put away our fear and anger concerning one another, so that we can dare to do things differently. You are giving us a golden opportunity, and we are the fortunate ones to recognize and climb aboard. Let us build one another up with our words, thoughts and actions. As evil falls away, a brightening will occur, for You are already at work in our world and we are here to put our hands to Your use, forming new ways to interact, with Love.
You are the Grand Architect and You are opening doors to unlimited potential. Our greatest hopes and dreams to become blueprints for a more beautiful, clean, healthy, kind, compassionate world. Your eternal Love for us doesn’t have boundaries. It flows into us and through us and doesn’t end with us. You have blessed us in innumerable ways and we are illuminated with a New Song of Life.
In humble gratitude and service,
In the name of The King,
Amen.
