Prayer of the Cleansed Path

Father,

We are watching a world being washed clean. As one water droplet falls, it’s solitary impact seemingly knows no glory, but as we step back and look at the brighter picture and the sun emerges amidst a cloudy sky, we see there were actually millions of water droplets teaming to wash a dirty world clean.

This all happens by your hand, Father. The miracles in the world happening now may not be evident to us at the moment, and we may only be seeing lightning flash, hearing thunder pound, or feeling the wind gale at us, but when this storm is over, the world will be different. “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” (Psalm 51:7)

May our body, our spirit be cleansed from the inside-out, may our journey be raised up to higher ground, and may the path ahead be washed clean. We can always withstand any storm, with the strength of faith in knowing that you will not forsake us. Faith and hope we retain. “It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.” (Isaiah 4:6)

You are shelter during the cleansing. May we see it, feel it, know it and may we always stay on the cleansed path, pointed to true North. “For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
