Prayer of Sincerity

Father,

We thank you for the people in our lives who touch us in many ways. Thank you for bringing those who challenge us to have patience and think more deeply. Thank you for bringing those who mirror the things in ourselves that we might never see unless it was right in front of our faces. Where would we be without those who come to love us and crack our hearts wide open, so that the love we had locked up safe comes pouring out. To remember a love so pure that it consumes and inspires us to expressions of selflessness. To walk through the fire and become so clear that it takes us closer to the eternal everlasting love that is You. “And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’” (Matthew 22:37)

When we clear away all the things that muddle and confuse, we become more present. Father we bless all those who have brought us opportunities to learn and grow. For those we might not agree with who challenge us to be more patient and see things from another’s perspective. Situations that challenge us to implement the teachings of your son, Jesus, the Master of Love. “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” (Acts 20:24)

Bless us with the peace inside to become more mindful, more present. To love more dearly and to walk forward clearly. Bless all those around us who have been teachers as well as students. For it is for You that we strive to move forward with greater wisdom and a cleaner heart.

Let it be so,

Amen.
