Pennsylvania Farms

I’ve always been in love with the farms of Pennsylvania.  As we continued our journey east, we saw them set against the mountains.

As the topography went from mountainous to hilly, we could see huge operations.

This is real life Farmville!

There’s room to breathe here with maximum expansion.

Then we went through Harrisburg and crossed the Susquehanna River.

And saw more rural beauty.  It made me very proud to be a Pennsylvanian all my life.

Then we went through Lancaster and were transported into an Amish Paradise.

The tourist industry has been strong out here and flea markets are a mixture of Amish and non-Amish culture.

Here, you share the road with Amish buggies.

This is something that everyone should experience for a weekend, a week, or a life.

And boy, those little Amish ladies sure can cook!

They still use mules instead of John Deere tractors.

And park their buggies in parking lots with cars.

The farms are timeless…

colorful and clean…

and huge.

Here, you know the produce will be fresh, the air clean, and the water pure.

We’ll be staying not far from here for at least a month to visit family and friends and our storage unit.  Feels good to be back.
