Here we are in White Sulphur Springs, Montana.  In every direction, there are breathtaking mountain views.

…and the sunsets look like this.

We decided to take a drive on Montana’s Route 89 Kings Hill Scenic Byway through the Lewis and Clark National Forest and the Little Belt Mountains.

We saw picturesque little hills dotted with evergreen, sagebrush and green, green grass.

That made us want to take some of the gravel off roads leading to pristine mountain scenery with trout streams and abundant wildlife.

Then we made our way back to the main road and headed toward the Castle Mountains.

A ranger explained to us that the protruding granite rock structures were uncovered in years of erosion of the surrounding limestone.  The fascinating result really does look like a castle in the mountains.

We were a little late to take a ride on that train car.

A few new rocks found their way into our truck somehow.
