Today was one BIG learning curve. Vehicle operation, fill-ups and cruising the highways in a big rig. We hit a 45 minute traffic jam due to an accident, and a storm with high winds in Ohio. Boy, you never realize what wind does to trucks until you experience it. We were hopping around the road like mexican jumping beans. We finally made it, 599 miles in 12.5 hours. It took Angie 7 hours to finally lie down and relax. She was watching EVERYTHING!
But here we are in lovely, but wet Angola, Indiana parked right on Hogback Lake for the night. We took Angie to play in the doggie play area and she met a male golden (the same color) named Toby. They played and romped and ended up in the lake. Needless to say, Angie was the first of us to get a shower. She finally crashed on the passenger seat.
Bill barbecued mesquite porterhouse steaks for dinner- yum! Why does everything taste so good in the fresh air? This is a very peaceful place. It is almost dusk and I am listening to morning doves and frogs and happy camper noises.
Tomorrow, it is 519 miles to Rochester, Minnesota and Autumn Woods RV Park. Bill is thinking about checking himself into the Mayo Clinic to have his head examined!
Look out! Wild Bill’s Rodeo is coming somebody’s way!
