Prayer of Endurance

Father,

As we greet this day, we are reminded of the importance of perseverance. To continue onward with enough in reserve to see things through. We know there are times when we don’t feel that we have the strength, but when we seek to receive your love, Father, we are “being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience” as it says in Colossians. And so, as we strive to sew seeds of good work in the world, we continue to tend our own garden so that we have enough stamina to go the distance.

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. (Hebrews)” and we shall. Thank you for the reminder that as we do for others, we still need to cultivate ourselves so that we have more to give without becoming depleted. By nurturing our minds, our bodies and our spirit, we can go about our life with stamina and stabiity.

As James tells us, “But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.” This reminder to keep focused in order to go about life with a sense of control, Father, so that we can be more effective and less drained as we re-dedicate ourselves to expressing your love in our world.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans)

Let it be so.

So be it.

Amen

Perseverance

Call to Perseverance

Worry takes us away from our center and fragments us off into all our concerns. We can counteract this by grounding ourselves in who we are and remaining centered. Keeping steady is the advice of the day.

There will be many distractions now, trying to take us off course. We must stay centered and persevere. We are in the driver’s seat and we alone must decide our direction. Consciously aligning with what serves us feeds our soul so that we stay on track.

As we persevere we unravel the methods of control that sought to disempower us and tried to chip away at our resolve, fragmenting us into pieces. Working together, piecing it all together, claiming ourselves back, lost soul fragments return. Then as we uncover more and more, we unravel what had us shackled and chained, so that we may liberate ourselves, and then liberate those next to us.
